BUILT FROM THE GROUND UP

Beantown Studios was founded in 2016 by Charlie and Mel Alejandro, with the support of Seng 2KX and Johnson Sea. Their shared mission: give independent artists and filmmakers access to a world-class production space without the Hollywood price tag.

What started as a vision became a 2,000 sq ft award-winning warehouse studio in Lowell, MA — home to dozens of music videos, feature films, dance productions, and commercial shoots. Every set, every light, every prop was chosen with creators in mind.

Over the past decade, Beantown Studios has produced award-winning projects including The Trap (now streaming on Amazon Prime Video), Fields of Diamonds, Stillness of the Run, Code 13 Unreadable, Kahdiak's Kitchen, and many more. In 2026, the studio was recognized by Peerspace with an Open Door Award — one of the most extraordinary production spaces in the world.

Johnson Sea

Photographer & Set Designer

Johnson is the eye behind the lens and the hands behind the sets. His photography work captures the raw energy of every production, while his set design transforms the Beantown Studios warehouse into whatever world a project demands — from gritty street scenes to fully outfitted custom builds.

Creative Manager & Studio Host

Seng manages the creative direction and day-to-day studio experience at Beantown Studios. Mel Alejandro

Co-Founder & Technical Director

Mel co-founded Beantown Studios in 2016 and oversees all technical operations and production management. With deep expertise in technical training, crew coordination, and on-set logistics, he ensures every production runs safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard — from pre-production planning through final delivery.
